On Wednesday, January 18th, Thailand Fighting Championship will have its first event at the Build Factory in Khao Lak, Thailand.
In the main event, Tiger Muay Thai product Alex Schild and Ultimate Malaysian Fighter Mohammad Zakhir will meet in the middle of the ring and put on a show of violence in motion. The rest of the card is filled with prospects and veterans from around Southeast Asia vying for some shine and recognition.
In 2014, the 27 year-old Schild (Overall 2-2, TFC Debut) debuted in the Thunderdome of Asia known as Full Metal Dojo. He sliced through the competition by destroying his first two opponents, Chan Heng at FMD 1 and Susovan Ghosh at FMD 3. He showed through his performances that he is dangerous with his strikes and on the ground.
However, when decided to step outside of Thailand, he dropped two straight in China under the WSOF-GC and Bullet Fly FC banners.
Stepping in across from the American is Mohammad “The Bull-Killer” Zakhir (Overall 3-2, TFC Debut), who came up through the amateur ranks in the Malaysian Invasion MMA promotion.
He turned professional in 2012 and has had a rocky career so far. Despite being stopped in both his loses, the Malaysian has an 100% finishing rate in his wins.
While Zakhir is looking to extend his streak to three in a row, Schild will be trying to snap in losing ways and get back on track. Both these guys are trained to take the fight to any place in the ring so a finish is imminent, the only question is will it end on the feet or on the canvas.
The rest of the event will have two representatives from Iran, one each from the Philippines and Costa Rica, and seven local Thai fighters.
Doors open at the venue at 3pm and the first fight will start at 4pm. The event will be streamed live through Thailand Fighting Championship’s facebook page.
