Acclaimed comedy actor T.J. Miller will soon move into the realm of live sports commentary, as he flies to Bangkok next month to join the commentary team at Full Metal Dojo.
The stand-up comedian, voice actor and breakout star of HBO sitcom Silicon Valley, is said to be excited to add ‘live sports commentary’ to his ever-expanding resume.
Miller recently appeared as side-kick to Ryan Reynolds in the Marvel smash hit Deadpool, as well as other famous roles in Cloverfield, Transformers: Age of Extinction and Office Christmas Party. He’s also lent his vocal talents to Oscar-winning Big Hero 6, the How to Train Your Dragon series, and the upcoming The Emoji Movie.
T.J. Miller will be flying in straight from his last stand-up date on 24 June in Las Vegas to join the team in Bangkok, and is expected to perform a stand-up gig in the Thai capital, before being given free rein on the mic for his live MMA commentary debut at Full Metal Dojo’s FMD14 event on 1 July.
The event, FMD14: Bigger, Badder, Blacker, Madder, will be at Insanity Nightclub in Bangkok and will be live streamed on the company’s Facebook page on 1 July from 8pm to midnight local time.
T.J. Miller will be joined in the commentary booth by former UFC and Pride fighter Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller and Asian MMA expert Brad Robinson.
The fight card is expected to comprise of nine fights, including an undercard of local amateur talent. Expected headliner will be Strikeforce veteran Joe Ray versus Brazilian Marcelo Tenorio. FMD 13 saw Tommy Hayden clinch the FMD lightweight championship title over Will Chope, in a battle between two former UFC fighters.
