Chinese welterweight Li Jingliang has signed a new four-fight contract with the UFC and will return to action at UFC Fight Night 111 in Singapore.
An official announcement is to be made by the promotion, but “The Leech” said via Twitter that he will return to face Jonathan Meunier at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on 17 June.
Earlier this year UFC made a surprise decision to remove Li from its welterweight listing on UFC.com. A UFC spokesperson however said it was “nothing out of the ordinary” while contract negotiations were underway.
Li is still listed as “former fighter” on the UFC website, but news of his return is quickly spreading. The Leech is coming off two strong back-to-back wins, including a second round KO of Bobby Nash at UFC on FOX 23 in Denver.
Jonathan Meunier has gone 1-1 in his short UFC career. Most recently he picked up a unanimous decision win against Rich Walsh at UFC Fight Night Melbourne.
