DEEP Cage Impact takes place on July 21, 2014 at the Ota City Gymnasium in Tokyo. Here are the results from the event, including the Welterweight title challenger match between Yuya Shirai and Yuki Okano, plus Seigo Mizugushi’s retirement match against Kazuhiro Nakamura.

At today’s DEEP Cage Impact. Yuya Shirai put himself back in Welterweight title contention with a split division win over Yuki Okano.
Megaton Seigo Mizuguchi retired after a thorough drubbing by Middleweight Champ Kazuhiro Nakamura, who then announced he would be retiring on his final fight on December 21st. Nakanishi announced a drop to middleweight and asked to be Kaz’ challenger, but boss Shigeru Saeki did not confirm the bout.
#13 – Mr Megaton’s Retirement Match

The Megaton ends his career on a smashing note, however it was a song played on his own head by Kaz. The second round became a bloodbath as the ref did not jump in until the towel was thrown by Mizuguchi’s corner.

#12 – DEEP Welterweight Championship Next Challenger

Yuki Okano (8-5-1) 岡野裕城（マッハ道場）
After standing tow to toe for two rounds in a war of striking, Shirai narrowly edged out Okano in the third round with counters and successful takedown. Okano made his efforts known with lots of low blows and a few thumbs for good measure.

Inoue opens with punches, Ahn returns kicks, including a low blow. Inoue gets a takedown that slams Ahn and dislocates something.

Ishizuka looks to take Kobayashi down, but he defends, eats knees in the clinch. More takedown attempts from Ishizuka and he throws elbows to set them up. In the second, Kobayashi tries for a takedown, but Ishizuka reverses it, takes his back, and taps him.

Kobayashi started the first round striking while Kato shot for takedowns. But then Kato reversed the strategy with a huge barrage of punches while smiling. Kobayashi clinched and returned with dirty boxing. Kobayashi opened the second with more striking and this time Kato engaged back with the same. Kato punished Kobayashi with combos, and when it looked like Kobayashi was coming back, Kato countered with a left hook that floored him

Saotome with great takedowns but Tsunemura always gets back up. Saotome was able to take back position for some ground and pound in the second so one judge gave it to him, but the others ruled for a draw.
