Kunlun returned to the World Combat Sports Center in Beijing last night for a full MMA card, where long time veteran Wang Sai took home a win over consummate underdog James Kouame.
The three round scrap got off to a slow start, but the pair stepped it up into the second round where Wang pushed forward, secured takedowns and maintained pressure against his Canadian opponent.
It was the sixth straight win for Wang (20-6) and his 12th win since being cut by the UFC in 2015.
Elsewhere on the card hardworking Jinensibieke Asikerbai got a decision win over and knockout phenom Tang Kai, while one of China’s best featherweights Song Yadong defeated the dangerous Edgars Skrīvers by decision.
Up and coming female flyweight Lin Heqin pulled off an impressive TKO victory over Hanna Yurchenkova, with a heavy ground and pound forcing the referee to step in at 3:45 of round 1. With the win, Lin move to 5-2.
Next up for Kunlun is Kunlun Fight 60 in Zunyi, China where Laetitia Madjene will face Anissa Haddaoui in the final of the 8 woman 61.5 kg tournament.
