ROAD FC 32, the first event in Changsa, China for the promotion, was held in the Hunan International Conference and Exhibition Center to an eager crowd of 7,000 wanting to see a show.
Luckily for them, Kim Soo-Chul put on a striking clinic that demolished Jumabieke Tuerxun and Aorigele smoked Bob “The Beast” Sapp with ease in less than a minute.
It seems like ROAD Fighting Championship has found a gold mine in China. With a record breaking 40 million watching on CCTV5, it only seems to be the tip of the iceberg for the burgeoning promotion.
Having “China’s Heavyweight Supernova” Aorigele face the never forgettable and always in character Bob “The Beast” Sapp was most likely the reason so many eyes were glued to so many television screens. With the support of millions Aorigele went into the cage and put in work. He stood in the pocket and flung haymakers while Sapp just stood there waiting to get hit.
After a flurry of missed punches a left hook caught the American in the face and he went down like a stack of books. Curled up in a fetal position on the ground Herb Dean had to jump in to save him.
Aorigele cried after the emotional and amazing victory, as his fans and family cheered him with all their love.
In the other marquee matchup, Kim Soo-Chul completely laid down the law against Jumabieke Tuerxun leading to a first round obliteration.
Body shots were the key to victory for the young South Korean who has not lost since 2013. Immediately after the bell rang to start the fight, Kim landed a clean left kick to the midsection and his opponent was visibly hurt. Jumabieke did a good job recovering with his wrestling but it was not long until the end. For the rest of the round Kim connected with knees to the body, kicks to the head and punches with precision accuracy. However, the shot that ended it all was a uppercut to the stomach.
This makes it seven in a row with a draw against Marlon Sandro stuck in the middle. He has quietly become one of the best fighters in Asia without a title in a promotion. It will be interesting to see who will be willing to face this monster next.
In the women’s bouts of the night, the Date sisters (Hana and Nori are not related) were impressive with their outfits but not in their performance. It was very intriguing to see the karate style displayed but they sat back and didn’t really get any offense going. Therefore, Lee Ye-Ji used her ground skills and Lin Heqin chopped with leg kicks to earn decisions over the Japanese youngsters.
