Tribe Tokyo Fight 2 took place on September 13, 2013 in Tokyo, Japan.

TTF 2 saw a rivalry in Nerima between home base representative gyms Ryo Chonan’s Tribe MMA and Yuki Nakai’s Paraestra. The event is notable for being set in Coconeri Hall, a government venue, in which as such virtually never allows MMA events to be held.

In the main event, Tribe MMA’s own Kiyotaka Shimizu took on Wayjutsu’s Ishigami Yasutaka in a non-title bout of Pancrase versus Shooto. Shimizu added value to his stock with a punishing first round that saw Ishigami needing a doctor check for his bleeding mouth at the end. A suspected jaw fracture halted the fight, adding another misfortune to Ishigami’s faltering career.

Of the Tribe MMA versus Paraestra themed matches, 2013 amateur Shooto Champ Ryo Okada got a huge notch on his record by taking the split decision over former Pancrase title challenger Yo “Guillotine” Saito. Okada pulled out the narrow decision by figuring out Saito’s shoots and landing punches in the process.

Tribe’s Outsider fighter “Shibuya Rick” Asuka Mikami kept his 5-year undefeated streak alive by outpointing Paraestra’s Yasutaka Koga, and the effort should put him on the radar of other larger promotions now.

Paraestra’s Kirihito Kodama and Takahiro Furumagi turned in solid performances to credit Paraestra with wins, while Tribe’s Tatsuya Ando made a successful bid in his pro debut.
