ONE Fighting Championship 13 “Moment of Truth” takes place this December 6, 2013 at the MOA Arena in Manila, Philippines. Bantamweight Champion Koji Oishi takes on former champ Honorio Banario in a rematch for the title.

ONE FC 13 showcases the talent of the Philippines once again, including the headline title fight, and many fan favorites. The modern Mall Of Asia Arena will play host to the foray.

Headlining the event, Koji Oishi defends the Featherweight title in a rematch with Honorio Banario. Their first affair was a wild and thrilling go-for-broke bout that epitomized the styles of both men: willingness to engage, heavy hands, and incredible heart. Oishi got the birthday win and was all smiles; he’d just come back from a loss of his King Of Pancrase Lightweight title, then unsuccessfully contended for the Featherweight title in the same promotion. Banario was conflicted between feeling the late knock down in the first that almost finished his foe, and his own in the second which he felt sent him to the back of the line to start over. Both guys will be confident they can knock each other out. Expect fireworks and a quick and bloody affair.

Kevin Belingon entered ONE FC undefeated and got thrown into the stellar mix of bantamweight fighters. He’s gone 2-3 with the promotion, but against world-caliber fighters like Masakazu Imanari and Masakatsu Ueda for the Bantamweight Tournament Final. Despite dropping decisions to Ueda and former Bantamweight Champ Kim SooChul, he has constantly improved and shown explosiveness even at the end of three rounds. Belingon took out Yusup Saadulaev in a huge comeback, and now faces yet another grappler, David Aranda Santacana. Santacana is undefeated across nine fights and claims eight of them by submission. The Spaniard is no joke on the ground, with wins over European fight scene stalwart Olivier Pastor and UFC vet James Doolan. Team Lakay’s recent wrestling focus should pay off for Belingon if he still remembers to keep that KO power at his fingertips.

Hometown hero Eduard Folayang’s opponent will be Indonesian Vincent Latoel of Tatsujin Dojo. Folayang was long considered the darling lightweight of the Philippines, but his recent outings against more wrestling-savvy opponents proved his undoing. Taking on a wrestling coach was Team Lakay Coach Mark Sangiao‘s recent commitment, and it will be the make or break against Latoel. Latoel’s stand up comes from Martin De Jong‘s Tatsujin Dojo, and while his grappling wasn’t praised in his early career, Latoel’s self-imposed time out brought him back to those roots. Folayang needs to stop Latoel’s climb to be considered a prime lightweight again.

Exciting striker Vuyisile Colossa is back to take on Caros Fodor. Colossa has put on some of the most exciting fights in the ONE FC cage and fans have seen his skills remarkably improved in other areas. He has some of the fastest hands in the game and KO power, as well as incredible kicks. Colossa has remarked that after his taste of rising star Lowen Tynanes‘ wrestling, he feels his MMA game will shoot to anther level. This time he will get to test it against Fodor, who proved in his first ONE FC outing that he likes to get inside and dirty. It will be back to the Thai clinch and inside elbows and knees. If the fight goes to the canvas, Colossa’s ground training will need to pay him dividends.

An exciting match between top Filipino up and comers Geje Eustaquio and Eugene Toquero will be fast and furious. Eustaquio has shown himself able to hand grapplers, but he will have less of a grappling camp necessary since he welcomes the man with little hands of stone to the ONE FC cage. Toquero is known for opening up at the bell and KOing his opponent before it stops ringing.

Korean stand up notable Kim DaeHwan will face Thanh Vu. Kim has a Muay Thai competition and grappling background that has made him a very exciting and unpredictable fighter to watch. He is incredibly fast on his feet and throws combinations that land. Vu will have a big fight in front of him.

In a clash of the big men, Alain Ngalani welcomes lineman Paul Cheng back to fighting in Asia. Cheng has shown submission skills, but he will have to get inside the kick boxer’s giant roundhouses in order to implement any kind of a ground game.

Koetsu Okazaki will face Josh Alvarez, one of Guam’s most prolific Bantamweight fighters. Okazaki’s ONE FC debut was against Bibiano Fernandes at ONE FC 9 for the Interim Bantamweight Championship and went full five rounds, without Fernandes being able to finish him. Although he’s been out of action for a year, Alvarez holds a five-fight winning streak that includes four first-round stoppages. Both will look to cement their first ONE FC win.

Ruel ‘The Avenger’ Catalan will avenge his brother Rene Catalan‘s episode in the cage with Khim Dima. Rene shot for takedowns and when unable to complete one, the Cambodian planted numerous strikes to his neck and back of the head that put him out. Ruel should bring his sanda and depend on it for the win as Dima proved he has striking already.

Edward Kelly was originally set to take on Major Overall in a style versus style affair, but it has been announced Overall has been taken off the bout. Kelly will follow in big brother Eric Kelly‘s footsteps in his ONE FC debut by taking on a very strong opponent, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt Herbert Burns. Burns may be a nascent MMA fighter but he’s no stranger to international competition. The little brother of “Durinho” is a multiple times champ of the Brazilian Nationals – probably the stiffest BJJ comp on earth given the difficulty Brazilians have in gaining visas to compete elsewhere. So, little brothers meet and try to make a name for themselves in this new striker versus grappler match up.
