Dennis Salazar and John Cris Corton headline PXC’s Laban MMA 2 scheduled on February 28, 2015 at the Baguio Convention Center in Baguio, Philippines.
PXC’s developmental league will stage their second event as part of the 20th Panagbenga Festival (Flower Festival) of Baguio City.
Salazar is making his second PXC appearance after a lackluster performance in his debut last November of 2014 at PXC 46 against Roy Doliguez where he lost the fight via unanimous decision. The heavy-handed Salazar now aims to cement his first “Terror Dome” win.
Meanwhile, Corton’s last fight was in April of 2013 against Venson Delopere where he won via unanimous decision. He’s been inactive in competition since then. The 23-year-old Shotokan black belt is going to face his stiffest test to date in Salazar. The pressure is surely in his side as he is fighting in his backyard against a tough warrior in Salazar, who is hungry to put himself back onto the winning track.
Salazar is known for his classic brawling style and a durable cardio. On the other hand, Corton, who has the moniker “Happy Feet”, is very elusive and has that “Machida Style” MMA game in him as he comes from a karate background.
PXC Laban MMA will also showcase some of the top young guns in the region as they try to prove themselves with a hope of getting bigger fights in the Guam-based MMA organization in the future.
