Pacific Xtreme Fighting holds its 40th card in hometown of Guam on October 25, 2013. The event features Michinori Tanaka’s first Lightweight title defence against Kyle Aguon and other foreign heavies debuting.
After showcasing Koreans and Filipino fighters, undefeated Michinori Tanaka was one of the first wave of talented Japanese picked up by PXC in their bid for an international audience. He needed only three shots to pave his way to the title, and after just one short year he is making his first defense. The Groundslam all-rounder will be facing Kyle Aguon, a PXC native who has made a case for his bid by avenging a loss to Trevin Jones, and trumping out a split verdict over Hawaiian prospect Russell Doane. Aguon will have the home field advantage, but Tanaka’s tenacity and emotional wins have given him a large PXC fanbase as well.
Former URCC Featherweight Champ Will Chope makes his debut against King Of Pancrase Takumi Nakayama, who is also the former KOTC Lightweight Champ. Chope is one of the most frequently fighting athletes in Asia right now whose results through the last 2 years seem like a glitch in the machine: a whopping 13 wins in a row with 7 guillotines. The rangy featherweight will be looking to sink another one, but it will be tough distinction to notch as this will be the most notable opponent he’s ever faced. Nakamaya is the current featherweight champion of Pancrase. He fought as a lightweight for most of his career until in 2010 when suffered a string of back to back losses, and so reinvented himself at featherweight. At 39 years old, he is in incredible shape and has shown no signs of slowing down in his fighting career.
Celebrated Japanese MMA fighter and kickboxer VV Mei will step into the PXC cage for the first time in an exciting match up with the very tough “Little” Patricia Vidonic. It’s an exciting bout that showcases PXC’s ability to put on good female matches. Brothers Tyrone and Trevin Jones get the chance to appear on the same card together, the former against Chuji Kato and the latter against Alvin Cacdac.
