PXC Welterweight Champion Zebaztian Kadestam has a date for his first title defense: PXC 47 on Guam, likely in March.
The Legacy Gym product earned himself notoriety in 2013 with a devastating body kick finish of Ross Ebanez. So when Lim Hyun-Gyu vacated the Welterweight title for his UFC debut, Kadestam got called up to face Josh Calvo in the main event of PXC 44.
Five rounds of brutality later, the Swede had his hand raised and a belt wrapped around his waist. Kadestam showcased his kicking while being a tactician and not allowing his opponent to dictate the action. It was a fight worthy of producing a new PXC Champion.
Kadestam’s challenger has not been announced as of the notice.
As previously announced on the card, Featherweight Champ Kim Jang-Yong will defend his title for the second time, likely against Yusuke Yachi.
Kim became the Champ when he stopped the then undefeated Filipino fighter Mark Striegl at PXC 39 via third round leg scissor choke. “The Beast” then took on Hawaii’s heavy-handed prospect, Toby Misech, and displayed his intimidating ground game by finishing him with a kimura.
Former Sooto Pacific Rim Champ Yachi is riding a three-fight winning streak including his unanimous decision wins over Kyle Aguon and Ryan Mulvihill.
