The longest-running mixed martial arts promotion in South East Asia, Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) is set to stage a gigantic event on October 23, 2014 at the humongous SM Mall of Asia Arena for URCC 25 dubbed as “Takeover”.

URCC founder Alvin Aguilar has been quietly working over the past months on making his organization bigger and better. The promotion also made a major revamp in terms of production as they put an end to using a traditional ring and have switched to utilizing a cage, which they tried for the first time last July during their “Relaunch” event at Resorts World Manila.

The event was successful and all three fighters who won that night using the URCC cage said they felt much more comfortable compared to the traditional ring,

Aguilar gave his reason for the switch at the relaunch,

“The only reason why we went to the cage is that we are preparing our fighters for international fights and everybody on the international stage fights in the cage.  I don’t want our fighters to have to adjust to the cage.”

The fight card for URCC 25 is said to be announced very soon, but it can be speculated that URCC fans will likely witness the return of two of the most exciting fighters in the promotion as former light heavyweight champion “Bad Boy” Caloy Baduria and top Pinweight contender Alvin Ramirez might be featured on the said event.
