Alberto Mina, currently 11-0 in his MMA career, has just confirmed to MMA-in-ASIA the details of his signing to the UFC. The BJJ and Judo black belt will make his debut on the UFC Macau card on March 1, 2014.
Alberto Mina was picked up by Bellator when he was a 9-0 fighter out of Brazil, racking up wins both there and in the UK. Unfortunately, a fight was never found for him so when his contract expired, he was 2 years cold and looking to get back on track. Mina made his return in stunning fashion at Rebel FC 1 in Singapore at the end of 2013, slamming and punching his way to a quick victory.
Mina has never let a fight go the distance in his entire career. While his skills are definitely on the canvas and taking it there, his four wins by knock out prove his versatility.
Mina doesn’t know who his opponent will be at this time, however he knows he’ll be fighting at welterweight. He will be representing Epic MMA in Hong Kong, the gym where he resides as a full-time coach with Vuyisile Colossa, Mike Powers, Sandro da Silva, Mostafa Abdollahi, and Head Coach Rodrigo Medeiros. Mina is currently working out the details of his fight camp.
