ONE FC CEO Victor Cui originally confirmed to MMA-in-ASIA that ONE Fighting Championship has picked up two high-profile fighters from China, both Legend FC Champions Ji Xian and Liu Wenbo.

CORRECTION: ONE FC has updated MMA-in-ASIA that Liu Wenbo is not confirmed at the present time.

Ji Xian, known as “The Executioner” because of his propensity for guillotines, started his MMA career on the back of sanda training at the well-known Xi’An Sports University in Xi’An, China. He has fought in all of China’s international competitions, including Art of War, Top of Forbidden City, RUFF, and Legend FC, where he worked his way into the bantamweight Championship belt before the promotion shuttered its doors. Ji Xian has all of his wins by submission, pointing to his excellence in grappling. His only two losses have come at the hands of Yusuke Kawanago, the Legend FC Featherweight Champion, and Koji Yoshida, who took Royler Gracie to a decision win in his first ever MMA fight.

Ji Xian is reported to be signing to a 6-fight deal and will expect to make his debut in April of 2014.

Liu Wenbo is another staple of the Chinese MMA scene, rising to prominence as one of the most successful upper-weight divisions fighter. The former heavyweight dropped down to fight at middleweight where he secured the Legend FC belt in 2012. The China Top Team athlete has trained alongside TUF captain Zhang TieQuan, former Legend FC Bantamweight Champion Yao HongGang, and many other notable CTT fighters. Liu’s boxing is his forte and he’s not afraid to stand and bang with anyone.
