The World Series of Fighting Global Championship will have their inaugural event on November 21st, 2015 at the Haikou Arena in Hainan, China. It is headlined by a heavyweight title bout between American Jeremy May and Russian Evgeny Erokhin along with other notables like Brazilian grappler Carlo Prater and Russian submission artist Khusein Khaliev on the main card.

The WSOF is jumping right into expanding beyond North America and heading towards Asia. Many of the other promotions in the region are lunging at the chance to put on events in China and this promotion is no different.

The main event of the night will be a heavyweight championship match between ATT’s (American Top Team) Jeremy May (13-8) and Russian knockout artist Evgeny Erokhin (12-4).

The former middleweight, May, was a cast member of the seventh go-around of The Ultimate Fighter: Team Rampage vs Team Forrest. Even though he won his fight via armlock to get into the house, he was later KO’d by current UFC welterweight contender Matt Brown in the preliminary round. Since the show in 2008, he is 8-3 with seven finishes to his credit.

Currently, the American is on a four-fight winning streak all of which are by way of submission.

His opponent, Erokhin, carries dynamite in his hands and they explode often when he steps into the cage. The Russian monster is on a seven fight knockout spree against the likes of Tim Hague, Jeff Monson, Mike Kyle and Brett Rogers. However, most fighters that live by the sword die by the sword and that is why he has also been knocked out three times himself.

Also, a super veteran will make an appearance to kick off the first ever card in style. Former WEC, Strikeforce and UFC fighter Carlo Prater (31-16-1) will take on Team Quest Thailand representative Dylan Fussel (8-2) in the lightweight division.

Unfortunately for Prater, he has lost the last six of his seven fights and is looking to bounce back against the less experienced Fussel. The Brazilian has shared the cage with some of the best in the world such as Carlos Condit, TJ Grant, Erick Silva and Melvin Guillard which will serve him well on fight night.

For Fussel, this is a golden opportunity to go into the cage and finish a solid veteran to make a name for himself.

Closing out the main card will be bouts between LWs Yoshihiro Koyama (21-8) and Khusein Khaliev (13-1), FWs Chaitanya Gavali (5-1) and Vadim Ogar (4-1) and women bantamweights Jennifer Norris (0-0) and He Qun (1-0).

This is a great combination of new up-and-coming talent and some gritty veterans of the sport. Most likely, a good portion of these fights will not need to go to the judges.
