FCC 9 is back in Mumbai with stylistic match ups and new Indian MMA talent

India’s Full Contact Championship 9 features domestic talent from across the ranges of top level combat sports with proponents from Muay Thai, boxing, wrestling, and grappling. As FCC continues to host shows, it provides a platform for young fighters who study MMA specifically to have a chance to compete, and offers experienced combatants from other disciplines to “try out” the fastest growing sport in the world.

Full Contact Championship ( FCC ) India’s longest running MMA promotion is back this season with FCC 9 to be held on the 3rd of August 2013, in Mumbai.  With an interesting line up which comprises of some debutants, and some of the more experienced fighters, FCC 9 promises to be action packed.

Nadeen Farooqi is back after a convincing win in FCC 8 in Goa. He takes on debutant Sagar Barde in Bout 1 in the 60kg category. Sagar is a National Level wrestling champion, and a very aggressive fighter. Nadeem can expect war.

NADEEM FAROOQI : Stands at 5ft 5in tall. He weighs in at 60 kgs. A Jiu Jitsu expert, Nadeem has slowly, but steadily worked his way up the ranks in FCC. With an impressive MMA Record of 2-1-0 with 2 wins, and one loss, Nadeem is a strong contender for a Title Shot. Up against an aggressive wrestler in FCC 9, he probably faces his toughest challenge to date. Nadeem’s Fight Style is MMA

SAGAR BARDE : Stands at 5ft 7in tall. He weighs in at 60kgs. A National Level Wrestling Gold Medallist, Sagar is a very aggressive fighter. Having won wrestling matches against much heavier opponents, Sagar is here to make a mark in FCC in the 60kg category. Hailing from the interiors of Maharashtra, Sagar takes on the more experienced Nadeem Farooqi in his debut MMA match on the 3rd of August 2013. Sagar’s Fight Style is Grappling

In Bout 2 ( 65KG) Rahul Jadhav, who made an impressive debut in Goa takes on debutant Muay Thai fighter Mohammed Farhaad Sayed in what will be a classic Striker vs Grappler contest.

RAHUL JADHAV : Stands at 5ft 8in tall. He weighs in at 65kgs. Very unassuming to look at, Rahul is a National Wrestling Champion, and made an impressive debut in FCC 8, making quick work of a National Judo player. A determined Grappler, he comes into FCC 9 with an unbeaten MMA Record of 1-0-0 with one win, and no loss, and takes on a Muay Thai fighter.

MOHAMMED FARHAAD SAYED : Stands at 5ft 8in tall. This Muay Thai expert weighs in at 65kgs. All set to impress in his debut at FCC 9, Farhaad takes on Grappler Rahul Jadhav in what will be a classic Grappler versus Striker contest on the 3rd of August. Farhaad’s Fight Style is Muay Thai

Bout 3 sees the return of Psycho Sathe. After suffering a TKO loss, he returns more determined than ever to take on Farhaan Siddiqe, who is also coming off a loss in his debut. Both fighters need a win desperately.

SHRIKANT SATHE : More popularly known as ” Psycho”, stands at 5ft 9in tall. He weighs in at 73kgs. He returns to the ring after almost a year. Coming off a TKO loss, Psycho is extremely determined to get back into the winning stream. With an MMA Record of 1-1-0 with one win, and one loss, he takes on Farhaan Siddique in FCC 9. FARHAAN SIDDIQUE : Stands at 6ft even. He weighs in at 72kgs. With an MMA Record of 0-1-0, coming off a loss in his debut bout, Farhaan is determined to win this one. With a tough opponent in Psycho Sathe, Farhaan has been putting in those extra hours in the gym. With a lot more muscle packed on, Farhaan is ready for a battle. Farhaan’s Fight Style is MMA

Bout 4 is an interesting matchup in the 85 kg category between Mukesh Degda and Harshad Sadgir. Mukesh made an impressive debut in FCC 8 making quick work of the much more experienced Nitin Gaikwad. He takes on Harshad Sadgir, who earlier fought in the 75kg category, and demolished Gaurav Pandey in his debut bout. Harshad has now packed on more muscle, and has moved up a weight class to take on Mukesh. Both are unbeaten fighters, and this bout promises to be full of action.

MUKESH DEGDA : Stands at 6ft 2in tall. He weighs in at 85kgs. Mukesh is a Unified Fighting Gold Medallist, and a State Boxing Gold Medallist. He made an impressive debut in Goa, defeating one of the most experienced fighters from FCC, Nitin Gaikwad. He comes into FCC 9 with an MMA Record of 1-0-0 with one win and no loss. HARSHAD SADGIR : Stands at 6ft even. He weighs in at 82kgs. A former 75kg fighter, Harshad has moved up a weight class to take on tougher competition. After making a thumping debut in FCC 8 in Goa by demolishing his opponent with a world class wrestling display, Harshad looks to continue with his winning streak. A National Level Wrestling Gold Medallist, he comes into FCC 9 with an unbeaten MMA Record of 1-0-0 with one win and no loss as he takes on unbeaten fighter Mukesh Degda on the 3rd of August.  Bout 5 is between unbeaten FCC fighter Vishal Balkawde and Mohammed Uvez. Mohammed, a boxer, needs to keep the fight standing if he wants results against Vishal, a former ADCC Gold Medallist.

VISHAL BALKAWDE : Stands at 6ft even. He weighs in at 95kgs. An ADCC Gold Medallist, a National Judo Gold Medallist, a National Wrestling Gold Medallist, and unbeaten FCC Fighter, he comes into FCC 9 with an MMA Record of 2-0-0. Vishal takes on Mohammed Uvez Syed in his 3rd battle. Vishal’s Fight Style is MMA

MOHAMMED UVEZ SYED : Stands at 6ft even. He weighs in at 95kgs. A Boxing expert, and a Grappling practitioner, he makes his MMA Debut in FCC 9. More popularly known as “Lucky” he needs the God’s of Luck to support him in his fight against Vishal Balkawde on the 3rd of August. Mohammed’s Fight Style is MMA

Bout 6 in the 90kg category is between Saurabh Rao, who comes in with an unbeaten record, and Imran Khan, a Kickboxing expert who makes his MMA debut.

SAURABH RAO : Stands at 6ft 2in tall. He weighs in at 90kgs. A former State Level Boxing Gold Medallist, and a Judo practitioner, Saurabh bludgeoned his way into FCC with a smashing debut. He holds an MMA Record of 1-0-0 with one win and no loss. Saurabh’s Fight Style is MMA

IMRAN LIYAKAT KHAN : Stands at 5ft 10in tall. He weighs in at 88kgs for FCC 9. A Kickboxing expert, Imran is a very aggressive fighter, who looks for quick finishes. Making his MMA Debut on the 3rd of August, he takes on Saurabh Rao in fight that promises to be full of fury. Imran’s Fight Style is Kickboxing

Bout 7 will be a Wild Card bout, between Sinish Menon and Rupesh in the 85kg category. Both are debutants. Sinish is a Grappler, while Rupesh is a Boxer.

SHAHRIYAR ATAI : Stands at 6ft even. He weighs in at 85kgs. A natural born artiste, he is here to keep the audience entertained. With a record that makes people laugh, he comes into FCC 9 to knock you clean. Shahriyar’s Style is ……..CRAZY
