Kyle Noke has just announced that due to a knee injury, he will not be able to fight Yoshiro Akiyama at UFC Japan on September 20, 2014.
Noke, most recently notable as being the Australian team coach on The Ultimate Fighter Nations: Canada vs. Australia, announced the news on his Twitter feed. Noke stumbled against Ed Herman at middleweight and shortly returned to welterweight where he successfully KOed Charlie Brenneman in 2012. As a coach on TUF, Noke turned his duties away from the cage, so his bout with opposition captain Patrick Cote came after a long layoff.
Cote was due to face “Sexyama” who himself is coming off a self-imposed delayed stay of action since early 2012. While he’s only gone one win in 5 fights with the UFC, three of those were awarded with Fight of the Night honors, and increased the Korean Judoka’s legendary status post-HERO’s and DREAM.
