On this episode of Road to UFC: Japan, both coaches traveled to the semifinalists’ homes in Japan.
Coach Roy Nelson when to Wicky’s home of Nagasaki. They ran and swam in the oceanside country. Roy gave him some life advice and Wicky really took to him. Wicky talked about his reasons for moving there for family and supporting them.
Roy then found Hirota snorkeling, and got roped into donning a wetsuit to experience Hirota’s other love. They talked about life after fighting while at Hirota’s parents’ house, and encompassing his passion into making a tourism business around snorkeling, to welcome sightseers and travelers to Nagasaki.
Wicky and Hirota both believe this is the last stage of their MMA careers.
Josh then went to Akihabara to meet DJ Taiki in his favorite place. DJ showed off his Dance Dance Revolution skills.
Josh then went to Yashabo’s place. He complimented him on his straightforwardness, and chasing women.
Josh then put in some training time with both guys, and Roy did the same.
Josh and DJ watched the opponents, and said Hirota only punches when he moves forward, and that Yashabo can’t chase Wicky.
In Osaka, Yashabo took Josh home to meet his family, and he talked about his deceased father. He explained that his name means “Son of a Lion” and he wants to live up to the wishes. Josh shared that his dad also passed away 2 years before.
Yashabo said one time, his father liked a song, but didn’t know the name or singer. Finally Yashabo found out, but was never able to tell his dad because he passed away. So, he has made this song his entrance music.
