Vale Tudo Japan will host their third event on October 5, 2013 at the Ota City Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan. Megumi Fujii’s retirement fight will headline, Caol Uno faces another young gun, and superstars Hideo Tokoro, Lion Takeshi and Motonobu Tesuka fill out the card.

Megu Megu is heralded as one of the best female MMA fighters of all time. This great legend started in wrestling and didn’t break into MMA until many years after most other young guns got their start. With only two losses in her entire career, she has made a name for herself in the record books as a dominating, exciting, and honorable fighter. She takes on a very stiff opponent for her retirement fight in Jessica Aguilar. The FILA grappling gold medalist has already faced and defeated Megu in Bellator and the rematch will be huge for both women – Megu wants to prove she still sits atop the rankings and Aguilar is hungry to prove she is number one.

Hideo Tokoro comes back to the VTJ cage to meet Will Campuzano. A staple of VTJ, Tokoro has dominated his previous two fights. Campuzano is undefeated post-UFC. Caol Uno faces a younger and arguably tougher Daniel Romero. Things don’t seem to be getting any easier for Uno, yet he’s satisfied to face the guy who just KOed Hiroyuki Takaya, and Romero’s equally honored to face a legend.

It’s old skool versus new as Lion Takeshi faces Yusuke Yachi. Both once heralded as top prospects, they have seen a loss in their last outing and will be very aggressive to make this one a win – in Lion’s case to prove he’s still on top in Japan, and in Yachi’s case to show he’s learned from his last stoppage. Yuta Nezu is on an uphill climb and things get even more stiff as he takes on grinder Motonobu Tezuka. Also on the card, steamroller Naoyuki Kotani takes on Daisuke Hoshino who got a gimme with an armbar over Kuntap Weerasakreck in VTJ 1 – but this one will not be a fight he can look past in any sense.

The event will be live streamed through Japan’s Nico Nico Douga internet portal. As it may be difficult for non-Japanese speakers to navigate, so VTJ has created an instructional page here on how to purchase and access the stream.
