In this edition of “10 Questions”, get to know Onur Teker who makes his ROAD FC debut at this weekend’s event.
Onur Teker is a Turkish fighter with Team Kazgan. He is 25 years old and fights in the welterweight division of ROAD FC. He is now 2-1.
#1 – Why did you start MMA? How did you begin?
Onur Teker: Before MMA, I was a national Muay Thai and kickboxing champion. But when I saw MMA, I said, “Yeah this is real fighting, and I need to fight MMA.”
#2 – Who was the first MMA fighter you admired? Why?
Onur Teker: Anderson Silva because my stand up style is like his.
#3 – What is your favorite part of training? What do you most dislike in training?
Onur Teker: I like to train with all my teammates, and I don’t like to train alone.
#4 – Who are the people on your team? How do they help you?
Onur Teker: We are the Kazgans! My head coach and team captain is Murat “Lord Pitbull” Kazgan and we have a lot of national champions like Kaan Kazgan, Selim Koç and Kerem Dinçer.
#5 – Do you have hobbies? Can you talk about them?
Onur Teker: Watching movies and TV series, and reading some books.
#6 – In the next two years, what are your goals in MMA?
Onur Teker: My goal in next two years is to be fighting in the UFC.
#7 – If you were not an MMA fighter, what would you be?
Onur Teker: A photographer.
#8 – What is your opinion of the current level of Korean MMA? Why do you think this way?
Onur Teker: I think it is the best in Asia because Korean people really love MMA and Korea has a lot of world classUFC fighters.
#9 – What is your entrance music, and why did you pick it? When you are about to walk out to the cage, and you hear your entrance music, what are the thoughts and feelings you have?
Onur Teker: My entrance music is “Undead” from Hollywood Undead. I picked this song because I feel like walking more motivated with this song.
#10 – What does MMA mean to you?
Onur Teker: It’s my lifestyle, I can’t imagine life without fighting.
