UFC Fight Night 79 which takes place in Seoul, South Korea has again been stung by the injury bug. Korean welterweight Lim Hyun-Gyu is off the card and therefore newcomer Kim Dong-Hyun will take his spot.

The first UFC event in Korea has taken another big hit with WW power striker Lim Hyun-Gyu (13-5-1) having to pull out due to a serious ankle injury sustained in training. The KTT product will be missed since he has such a fan-friendly style and many Korean fans were anxious to see their fellow countryman fight in the Octagon.

To fill the void, Team Mad product “Maestro” Kim Dong-Hyun (13-6-3) will jump in with only a week to prepare and face Cincinnati native Dominique “Nonstop Action-Packed” Steele (13-6). Do not be confused, “Stun Gun” did not change his nickname.

The 27 year-old is one of the best lightweights coming up in South Korea and currently the TOP FC lightweight champion.

Back in April of this year at TOP FC 6, “Maestro” entered the Lightweight Grand Prix for the inaugural lightweight strap. He took on and demolished Toshikatsu Harada with superior grappling and ground strikes leading to a first round finish in the semis. Then, he went on to meet dangerous brawler Kang Jung-Min in the finals at TOP FC 8 in August. Kim used a similar strategy but this time he ended the fight with a rear-naked choke.

Since he trains with “Stun Gun”, he brings a similar style to the Octagon. Kim uses efficient striking and slick grappling to put his opponents in tough situations. In addition, he is good at choosing his spots and going for the finish which he displayed throughout the lightweight tourney.
