ROAD FC 19 will take place on November 9, 2014 in Seoul, South Korea. The first fight announced for the card is Riki Fukuda versus Lee Dool-Hee.
This will be Fukuda’s third fight with the promotion inside of a year, with his previous bouts all TKOs, including his last over well-known judoka Yoon Dong-Sik. While he was given a mild reception by the Korean audience in his entrance against Yoon, the MMA-savy fans heralded his finish.
Following a career of five fights and three years in the UFC, Fukuda was released by the promotion for testing positive for banned substances which he said was due to cold medicine. The entertaining and powerful Japanese slugger has recently commented about dropping to welterweight what could be a renewed bid at his old contract. Considering that Alex Caceras, who was popped for marijuana at the same time, was subsequently allowed to fight again, Fukuda’s hopes may eventually ring true.
Lee Dool-Hee will be the man across from Fukuda this time. His 8-7 record doesn’t look pretty, but it’s a testament to the fact he gets in the cage to bang. Lee’s last fight was a hugely entertaining three-round slugfest with former King of Pancrase Ryo Kawamura at ROAD FC 12 over a year ago. He pulled off a split decision from the battle.
Lee works out of Macahado BJJ affiliated Bros Gym, so he’s got more skills in his bag of tricks than most people realize. The 25-year old already has seven years of international fighting under his belt. If he learns to temper his style, he could be another Korean shining star on the horizon.
