ROAD Fighting Championship beefs up its roster with the addition of another female fighter, Norway’s Celine Haga. She will make her debut at ROAD FC 012 on June 22, 2013.
Celine Haga began her MMA career in Japan’s all-female Jewels promotion. The small and highly competitive women’s MMA scene saw her face some of the toughest fighters on the Jewels roster and in her record attested to it: Haga went just 1-12 in her first three years. However, that one win in 2010 was a dramatic upset over the Featherweight Champion Naho Sugiyama in a non-title match.
In 2012, Haga turned things around with a renewed attitude towards the sport and an improved training regimen. She has gone three straight wins in a row by subbing Anna Saito and decisioning both Miyoko Kusaka and Nahao Sugiyama. Haga’s recent fight with Sugiyama at Jewels 23 was her most impressive bout and biggest win as the Japanese fighter at 8-2 had never been defeated in Jewels. Haga dominated the entire with an evolved and varied skillset that included grappling, submission attempts and striking.
