In an effort to ramp up the international talent on their roster, sources at ROAD FC have informed us the signings of two internationally-based fighters to their line up. The first is Luis “Beicao” Ramos, a Nova Uniao product who trains under Andre Pederneiras with the likes of Barao, Jose Aldo, and Hacran Dias. The second is Diego “The Octopus” Saraiva, Bellator and UFC veteran jiujitsu black belt.
Luis “Beicao” Ramos is a recent UFC competitor released after a recent appearance on the FOX 4 card. The 19-8 welterweight has earned most of his wins through grueling battles that went the distance and he has never been submitted. Much of Ramos’ career has been in international Shooto where he is the former Welterweight Champion, and interestingly enough, he’s met another ROAD FC fighter already in ATT’s Roan Carniero. Beicao will bring a strong boxing background to the cage. His first appearance should be announced shortly.
Diego “The Octopus” Saraiva is a BJJ black belt who trains and fights out of his own gym in Atlanta, Georgia. His 21-16 record spans a decade in the sport, and in 2011 alone he fought five times. The mass of Saraiva’s career has been spent in regional US promotions, where he’s faced other up-and-comers and notables along the line such as like Micah Miller, Benson Henderson, and Melvin Guillard. Saraiva holds a win over Edddie Yagin. He has won a whopping 14 fights by submission, so anyone he faces in the ROAD FC cage better beware to never give up their backs or arms to this guy. He’s a natural lightweight, but recent experience in the featherweight division have made him focus there. Saraiva credits a renewed resurgence in his career to his three-straight decisions to Jeremy Stephens, Jorge Gurgel and Dustin Hazelett.
