TOP FC 7 Kim Doo-Hwan vs Roque Martinez

For their third event of the year, TOP FC will be heading to the southern region of Changwon, South Korea on Friday, May 29th for TOP FC 7: Return to Basics.  In the main event, Kim Doo-Hwan will be facing Roque Martinez.

This card will have some familiar names such as Kim Doo-Hwan, Kim Eun-Soo and it will be making promotional history by having its first ever women competitors.

In the main event of the evening, South Korean Kim Doo-Hwan (8-2) will be facing Roque Martinez (6-4-1) from Guam.

Kim, 26, is currently riding a four-fight winning streak while competing for three different promotions. He possesses knockout power in his hands and is able to choke out his opponents if the opportunity presents itself. That is why many consider him to be one of the best light heavyweights in all of Asia.

Standing on the other side of the cage from Kim will be Roque Martinez. The Spike 22 representative holds three knockout and two submission wins so he has shown that he can finish the fight on the mat or on the feet.

The co-main event will feature a middleweight bout between Nova MMA mainstay Kim Eun-Soo (6-3) and KTT newcomer Jung Sung-Jik (0-0).

Kim is coming off an impressive TKO victory over Brandon Kesler at TOP FC 6 just a few months back. In that fight, he totally dominated the American and finally finished him with some vicious GNP late in the second round. All six of his victories have come by the way of knockout and he is looking to continue that trend come fight night.

Top Fighting Championship will be making some history by having the first ever women’s fight in the strawweight division. KTT’s own Jung Yoo-Jin (0-3) and Japanese neophyte Yuko Kiryu (0-0) will face off in the main card portion of the event.

The 21-year old Jung has the most experience between the two but has not capitalized on any of the opportunities she has come across. While fighting for the PXC organization, she displayed heart and determination in both her fights, one of them was against current UFC strawweight Kailin Curran, but lost via unanimous decision. She has the home field advantage this time so she will be extra motivated to get the elusive win that has been escaping her so far in her career.

Her opponent, Yuko, will not only be making her promotional debut but this will be her first ever MMA contest. Not much is known about her except that she wants to meet Jung in the middle of the cage and bang it out.
