WSOF-GC will have their third event in the beautiful location of Quezon City, Manila, Philippines at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on July 30th, 2016. The main event for this card will be Russian cop and WSOF Global World Heavyweight Champion Evgeny Erokhin versus American cop Richard Odoms.

WSOF Global will enter the Philippines for the first time for WSOF-GC 3 in the month of July. The headlining matchup will be a clash in the heavyweight division between Russian executioner and WSOF Global World Heavyweight Champion Evgeny Erokhin (14-4 Overall, 1-0, 1 No Contest WSOF-GC) and detonating American Richard “The Black Eagle” Odoms (11-2 Overall, 1-0 WSOF-GC).

The current champion, Erokhin, won the inaugural heavyweight title back at WSOF-GC 2: Japan last February of this year against Strikeforce and Bellator veteran Brendan “Money” Cash. Cash began the fight with solid kicks to the legs but the Russian was too quick with his hands and kept lighting up his opponent with looping punches and counters. Eventually, the ref had to step in before the two minute mark since Cash seemed to be taking too much damage and his right leg was hampered from a kick he threw earlier in the fight. That made it nine TKO finishes in a row except for the no contest back at WSOF-GC 1: China for the champ.

His challenger, Richard Odoms, is also coming off an impressive performance at the same event. He went in and dismantled Yusuke Kawaguchi in the first round with a knee from hell earlier in the night. This easily made “The Black Eagle” the favorite to contend for that heavyweight strap so the good people at WSOF Global put this match together.

When you look at the tale of the tape, there is a huge difference in size. Erokhin is a normal sized heavyweight at 6’1″ and 230 pounds. However, Odoms is massive standing at 6’5″ and walking around at 300 pounds. Even though Erokhin is much smaller, his last opponent was about the same size and we all know what happened to him.

Just like most other heavyweight bouts, this one will not be any different in that power will be displayed for the masses to see. By observing these two warriors, this battle will likely end in the first round mirroring their previous fights.

In addition to the main event, fighters from Underground Battle Mixed Martial Arts (UGB-MMA) will compete on the card with other combatants from around the world.
