Rebel Fighting Championship has announced another match for its inaugural event on December 21, 2013 in Singapore. Sengoku finalist Taiyo Nakahara vwill take on UFC vet Marcos Vinicius Pancini at bantamweight.
After defeats of both Motonobu Tezuka and Shintaro Ishiwatari, Taiyo Nakahara was to become a crown jewel in the Japanese MMA crown with his entrance to the finals of the Sengoku Bantamweight Tournament. The promotion abruptly halted leaving the stellar grappler without a shot at the gold – which was to be a contest against Shunichi Shimizu, who was recently picked up by the UFC. Nakahara will look to sink his signature RNC onto Marcos Vinicius Pancini.
Pancini toughed it out in the Brazilian circuits until his whopping submission record got the attention of the UFC. Paired up against fellow Brazilian Wagner Campos at UFC 147, Pancini put his heavy hands on display and ended up winning a “Knockout of the Night” award worth a cool $65,000USD. However, he then stumbled against two stronger strikers and was cut last month.
While both fighters are grapplers by nature, they have proven unafraid to stand and bang. Whether they mix it up or shoot for bread and butter, this will be a fast-paced and action-packed match.
REBEL FC is also holding amateur trials on November 2, 2013 at FIGHT 360 Gym in Singapore. There will be 7 amateur bouts on the first card.

The fight, scheduled for Saturday, 21 December 2013, will now include a highly anticipated clash between Taiyo ‘The Sun’ Nakahara and former UFC vet, Marcos Vinicius Pancini.
Nakahara, a graduate of the elite Wajutsu Keishukai academy, is one of Japan’s most technically outstanding submission wizards, having previously competed in Shooto and K-1 Heroes tournaments.
