PXC adds another fighter to the highly competitive featherweight division as Roshambo Champion Alex Volkanovski signs with the Guam-based mixed martial arts promotion.
The news was announced by PXC officials through their official Instagram account Monday morning.
Volkanovski is on a roll this year by stopping all of his opponents in the first round; in fact he has not gone the distance in all but his first fight. The New South Wales native has powerful and sharp striking – the majority of his wins have come by either TKO or KO, yet he has also proven himself submission savvy. He is expected to make his PXC debut on October 17, 2014 in Guam at PXC 45.
Volkanovski currently trains and lives at Tiger Muay Thai in Thailand which hosts a growing powerhouse team of MMA competitors that includes fighters and coaches such as Brian Ebersol, Roger Huerta, Zubaira Tukhugov, Cody Stevens, and Mairbek Taisumov. He was selected as one of only five fighters to receive a full training sponsorship based on his performance in trials.
Adding the talented Aussie to the stacked 145 division is a lift for the promotion, which boasts some very entertaining fighters like Toby Misech, Takumi Nakayama, and Rolando Dy. Volkanovksi brings with him high level athleticism and a thrilling style of fighting, putting everyone in the division on notice. Look for him to quickly become a contender in one of the most exciting divisions in PXC.
